Eli & Charlie

Eli and Charlie are two super sweet lab boys who live out in Monroe Washington. We had a beautiful fall day for our shoot and I couldn’t have been happier. We all had a blast and I’m in love with the colors that came from this shoot. Mmmm color. :-)

The boys share their home with a beautiful parrot: Mr Peepers. He cracked me up the entire time we were inside because he mocked everything I said. He’d repeat after me: “noo, sit. Stay. Good Boy!”. Even when I made happy squeaky noises when I got a great shot he’d repeat that too. It was hilarious.

This is Charlie. He was the shy one. But the cute looks he gave me were sooo cute.

And Eli? Well Eli was all ham. (And I’m pretty sure this is the first truly horizontal tongue I have ever captured)

I will show you guys in an upcoming post how easy it is to make silhouettes from custom shapes using a Wacom graphics tablet.

Both boys with their favorite toys. These shots make me smile.

Hope you enjoyed Eli and Charlie! More new dog shots + a contest coming up!

Janie

Janie, the Belgian Malinois, was my Friday shoot in Austin, the one dry day of the weekend we had there. Janie was *very* camera shy, but I hope these images don’t let that show.

Serious (L). Not serious (R).

Janie’s mom is a dog trainer, and I loved watching their interactions together.

Beautiful dog with cute head tilt in front of purple flowers? Yes please.

janie-44

Isn’t she gorgeous? I love the coloring of the Malinois.

This next pair of shots just slays me. I nearly choked on my tea when I saw these for the first time. Ahhh, I love wide angle lenses. :-)

janie-55

Margaret thank you for bringing Janie into the city to have her picture taken and be part of the workshop. I loved working with both of you!

Savannah Brunette

I have decided that dogs named Savannah are awesome. What’s ironic about these two is that they were both our first models to respond to our model call, in entirely different cities. I took statistics in college, and I can tell you that is statistically significant. :-)

Savannah didn’t mind at all that it was raining outside, even going for a dip in Lady Bird Lake.

2 different sides to the same dog. playful. hungry. hee hee

I *love* these next two shots. There is something about her wet crimped tail fur, and the lush green foliage she is nestled in that leaves me swooning.

Thank you Jake for coming and joining us in Austin and bringing your dearheart of a pup with you. Savannah is such a sweetie and she kept us laughing the whole time.

Ruby

Ruby was one of the sweetest, most well-behaved dogs I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I just wanted to scoop her up and take her home with me. :-)

poor girl. Standing on a soaking wet bench, trying not to slip through the slats. Oh the things we put our dogs through for a good picture. lol

ruby-18

Thank you so much Jessica for bringing Ruby and allowing us to bask in her unflappable optimism for life. :-)

Dingo & Spirit

Some of you may remember Spirit from her photo here a few posts back, that also serves as the avatar for the Cowbelly fan page on facebook. She is the sweetest, cutest older pooch I have ever had the pleasure of working with. And her brother Dingo is pretty rad too.

Whoever said dogs don’t smile probably also thinks the earth is flat.

Dingo has the coolest collar. I love it.

Thank you Donna for coming and joining us in Atlanta. I had a fabulous time with your kids. Prints to come very soon!
