Lovely Lily the Lab

Lily was one of the easiest dogs I have ever photographed. She is sweet, playful, adorable, fun-loving, patient, obedient, loving, smart, man you name it. I love her.

I knew the shoot was going to go well because the very first shot I took was exactly the kind of shot I was aiming for, only that shot was an accident because I hadn’t adjusted the settings yet. It held the perfect settings for the high-key shots I was really hoping to get during our shoot. Call it Serendipity.

the ‘parents shot’. Awww…

Lily is like a blonde Samson. Can’t you just picture the two of them as boyfriend and girlfriend? Totally…

More high-key shots. These next handful were done digitally, meaning in photoshop. The series after those were done manually- meaning- in the camera. The eyes are cool in the digitally processed images, but I met Lily and I know her eyes don’t look like that so I prefer the ‘natural’ ones best. Looks more like ‘her’.

The ‘naturally taken’ high-key shots.

And, of course, no Cowbelly shoot is complete without the blue sky shots. (I told you I’m obsessed.)

Hope you enjoyed Lily. I LOVE HER!!

D’Ogi puppy

D’Ogi (pronounced Dee Oh Gee- as in how you spell DOG), is a darling little schnauzer puppy who had his big, exciting photo shoot day with me recently.

D’Ogi was a blast- making friends with everyone at the park, including a group of young girls who were having a picnic. I was struggling to shoot him in the full, bright sun, (dark colored energetic puppy + heavy bangs + bright sun = tough times for the pet photographer) so we eventually moved into the shade, where his true personality came out.

Tell me he’s not an adorable puppy.

SCORE!! Young hungry puppy + massive picnic spread = true bliss

It’s simply impossible for me to grow tired of blue sky shots. Hopefully you feel the same way too! You will be seeing these regularly on my blog. I guess you could call it a full-blown obsession.

Puppies tend to get tangled very easily (note the leash around his toy)

Dogi’s favorite toy is called ‘roadkill’ because , well, that’s exactly what it looks like.

Insert JAWS theme song here. This was the moment when we discovered D’Ogi’s foot fetish. After that he went to town on Christina’s shoes; jumping on them, chewing on them, playing with them, as evidenced by the series of shots below. I couldn’t pick just a few so I am sharing the whole batch. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.

Note the shoelace in puppy’s mouth.

Blitz

The first thing you will notice about Blitz is that he is adorable. The second thing you will notice about him is that he looks like a familiar breed but there is something a bit unusual about him.

That’s because Blitz is a 4 month old Alaskan Klee Kai puppy. (Bet you’ve never heard of one of those huh?). Which is essentially a miniature husky, but not quite. Blitz is just 10 pounds right now, and has a teensy-tiny body, and oh did I mention- keeyooote?

Blitz’ mom told me she gets asked all the time what kind of dog he is, and now to save time she just says ‘mini husky’. This was proven to me about 5 minutes into our shoot when the first puppy-lover stopped to say hi.

What cracked me up the most was an interchange that happened during the shoot after I noticed Blitz shivering. “Hey- I thought you were supposed to be from Alaska?!” I said. “No, actually, he is from California”, his mom said. Yeah, I guess he wouldn’t have been used to 45 degrees and windy in So Cal. ;-)

Enjoy!

Titan Boston Terrier chillin in da crib

Super short on time. Much, much work and very little time. Sorry for the sparse posts lately. And my apologies to those who are waiting for a reply phone call or email from me. I promise to reach out to you tomorrow!

If anyone knows of a good cloner (one who can make copies of you), please forward their info on to me. Or suggestions on how to turn 24 hours into 36 would be nice too. I just need it for the next 3 weeks. Thank you.

This is Titan. I photographed him recently at his home on Queen Anne. He is funny. His photos have gone to my head. See for yourself. I need to sleep. Titan is cute. He gives good smile.

This post is for Rob and all of the nice folks on woofboard.com who have been following my blog.

I don’t have words to express how much I love his little lip……… nope, words escape me.

I told you Titan’s shots have gone to my head. I am hoping the Boston Terrier owners appreciate this shot.

“Whoa there little buddy!” Titan did this, briefly, very briefly, as I was bending down to put my camera away at the end of the shoot. I stood up again and said “ok- go”. And he gave me one more fleeting ‘high ten’. Which was really more like a wave. Like he was flagging down a UPS truck filled with doggy biscuits. Or steak.

I swear this wasn’t a trick of his. It just happened. Is this a Boston Terrier thing? Check out the little froggy legs. I love it.
