Murphy’s mom informed me that her sweet boy succumbed to the cancer that he had been fighting so valiantly since February.
Murphy lived a very tough life before going to live with his mom Allison. He was a stray that arrived at the doorstep of a wealthy family in 2003, who later released him in 2007. By that time he was in very very bad shape- the family, even with their wealth, had severely neglected poor Murphy’s most basic physical needs.
When he came to live with Allison, he was basically starting life over. And what an incredible life it was too. She loved him so deeply and so truly it showed to anyone who met them. The poor pair were constantly in the doctor’s offices due to Murphy’s ongoing health problems he suffered at the hands of neglect. But Allison never complained, she just loved her boy, and enjoyed every moment they shared together. He had a wonderful extended family, and grandparents who loved him too, as he was meant to be loved all along.
I had just a very short time with this sweet boy and already miss him. My heart goes out to Allison and her family, who I know will love Murphy forever. Rest in peace little guy, rest in peace.
