Champ

Champ is a superadorable little tiny boxer mix. Just the right size to fit in your pocket, stick in your Cooper Mini or smuggle through airports. Ok, he might not be *that* small, but he sure is superadorable.

champ-05

I like laying in front of the fire too Champ! Especially on nights like tonight, where it is below freezing in Seattle. Brrr..

champ-26

I big time love this next shot. To me it speaks 100% boxer.

champ-07

Champ has his very own yellow rain slicker. Hee hee.

champ-25

Wanna see what it looks like on? Champ proves that you *can* have fun in the rain while wearing a plastic hoodie.

champ-17

I have no words for this next one.

champ-22v2

I nearly peed myself when I spied this graffiti covered wall in the alley behind their backyard. “Can we, can we? Pleeeze?” I asked his parents. “Sure!” came their reply. Game On!

champ-44

If you have a super well-behaved dog that will sit and stay on command for big chunks of time in unfamiliar environments, and would like to have your pooch involved in my graffiti dogs project, please shoot me an email to info@cowbelly.com with a photo attached and we’ll see what we can set up!

champ-48

Dog. Snuggle. Heaven. :-)

champ-38

Nicole thank you so much for having me out to photograph Champ! I look forward to getting your prints to you. :-)

Maddie

I have wanted to do a shoot at the UW campus for *years*, and finally had the opportunity to when a client said “I’m totally open to locations- you pick!”. I’ve had plenty of clients say this to me before, but always forgot about campus. I couldn’t have had a better day (a break in the rain) or a better subject. I love Maddie!

maddie-02

Here Maddie’s mom was playing hide-and-go-seek behind the pillars. Maddie is trying to figure out where she is. So. Cute.

maddie-05

I nearly deleted the shot on the right because it was so dark, but was really glad I didn’t after I had lightened it up. Lol,

maddie-09

FYI: Maddie is an older pitbull mix gal. Super sweet and fairly shy temperament. Total momma’s girl.

Poor girl is losing her vision, but loved playing fetch. This resulted in some tentativeness when the ball was falling out of the sky, but boy was she happy once she got it in her mouth.

The columns in Red Square.

This shoot totally took me back to my days as a student there. You can bet this won’t be the last shoot I do on campus. Next time when there aren’t so many students I’ll get more shots in front of the gorgeous buildings. It’s such a beautiful place to photograph.

maddie-48

Thanks so much Sarah and Maddie for a wonderful shoot! :-)

Eli & Charlie

Eli and Charlie are two super sweet lab boys who live out in Monroe Washington. We had a beautiful fall day for our shoot and I couldn’t have been happier. We all had a blast and I’m in love with the colors that came from this shoot. Mmmm color. :-)

The boys share their home with a beautiful parrot: Mr Peepers. He cracked me up the entire time we were inside because he mocked everything I said. He’d repeat after me: “noo, sit. Stay. Good Boy!”. Even when I made happy squeaky noises when I got a great shot he’d repeat that too. It was hilarious.

eli-charlie-16

This is Charlie. He was the shy one. But the cute looks he gave me were sooo cute.

eli-charlie-53

And Eli? Well Eli was all ham. (And I’m pretty sure this is the first truly horizontal tongue I have ever captured)

eli-charlie-33

I will show you guys in an upcoming post how easy it is to make silhouettes from custom shapes using a Wacom graphics tablet.

Charlie and his favorite toy, looking over his shoulder at his daddy. (awwww)

Both boys with their favorite toys. These shots make me smile.

eli-charlie-56

Hope you enjoyed Eli and Charlie! More new dog shots + a contest coming up!

Janie

Janie, the Belgian Malinois, was my Friday shoot in Austin, the one dry day of the weekend we had there. Janie was *very* camera shy, but I hope these images don’t let that show.

Serious (L). Not serious (R).

Janie’s mom is a dog trainer, and I loved watching their interactions together.

Beautiful dog with cute head tilt in front of purple flowers? Yes please.

janie-44

Isn’t she gorgeous? I love the coloring of the Malinois.

janie-45

This next pair of shots just slays me. I nearly choked on my tea when I saw these for the first time. Ahhh, I love wide angle lenses. :-)

janie-55

Margaret thank you for bringing Janie into the city to have her picture taken and be part of the workshop. I loved working with both of you!

Winnie

Winnie is the very first Swedish Vallhund I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is such a neat little dog, with a very interesting personality.

Winnie was absolutely fascinated by the kayakers going by. It was hilarious.

winnie-06

She and Savannah became best buds, but Winnie wouldn’t quite follow her into the water. Brrr…

winnie-12

winnie-14

I had to capture the girls in action, having a good game of ‘play fight’.

winnie-18

Cheryl thank you so much for braving the rain and coming and bringing Winnie to our Austin workshop shoot. I think based on the shots I got of her and Savannah, she had a blast. I know I did and I hope you did too.
