Breasyl Decopaw art
January 5, 2009 – 7:45 pm
Breasyl’s canvas is a gift from a former client (uh, I guess that would make her a current client too, duh) to a couple she is good friends with. I always love hearing how the art goes over when received. It is usually a pretty unexpected gift, and certainly a personal and thoughtful gift. My goal is always to make people cry. Wait, that didn’t sound right, lol. Think happy tears!
A few of Breasyl’s proofs were inspired by ‘Boomer Butter Square’, which has been very popular as of late. Next to Boomer is the winning proof of Breasyl, which I am expecting back from my printer by tomorrow at the latest!
I am still at the office working on art commissions (you guys remember Yukon? I’m revising his now), but will be heading home soon to watch the Bachelor. (Tonight is the season premiere with Jason! Who is from Kirkland Washington- in my neck of the woods!). My sister turned me onto the show a couple of years ago and I, like most of the rest of the country, fell in love with Jason, last-season’s reject from the bachelorette, and have been rooting for him to find true love since. I know it’s reality tv, and you can’t ever possibly know someone from a tv show, but he seems like such a good person with such a big heart, and couldn’t be more deserving. Although somewhat of a love cynic I am still a total romantic at heart, and really hope he finds the girl! Ok guys, you can make fun of me now, and girls, tell me how stupid you thought Deanna was (I know!!).
Emma & Vegas Decopaw proofs
September 29, 2007 – 5:18 pm
I finally finished designing adorable Emma and Vegas’ Decopaw art proofs. Emma’s mom (Vegas belongs to her friend, and will be having me do art later on), wanted simple design proofs in warm tones that go with the colors in their home.
These are my 3 favorite proofs, although I might like to see some green or something in the last ‘berry’ proof.
These will be hung in a row as a triptych of canvases, in the order you see them below, with the middle proof of Emma with her head cocked the biggest canvas of the 3.
Emma’s mom will be getting back to me shortly on what she’d like in the way of changes made to each proof. There are 3 different color versions for each of the above proofs, and I decided to throw in the bar elements to make the simple proofs a little bit more dynamic.
New Decopaw art piece- Sasha Winter Sky
June 11, 2007 – 3:37 am
I have been furiously playing catch up with art commissions this weekend, annoying friends and family who call and say “let’s go play!”. I say “no! I have work to do!” I love what I do and they don’t seem to realize for me that work is play, lol.
So I have been trying to catch up on art commissions, which I have fallen behind on the last couple of weeks while caring for a sick relative and taking care of some marketing projects. My apologies to Sasha’s mom and Lucy’s T.’s dad and Kiera’s mom and Gizmo’s dad, and Lucy K.’s mom. Oh- and Carlos’s mom! I swear I will have his canvas ready this week!
I just finished the proofs of Sasha for her mom. Sasha’s mom requested all warm colors, to go with Sasha’s fur colors. Sasha was a beautiful rottie who has sadly passed.
While playing around with the sliders in a gradient (which I often do), I stumbled upon a beautiful combination with Sasha. However, Sasha’s mom was pretty clear that she didn’t want any blue or green in the piece, so instead of selfishly putting a blatantly blue proof in Sasha’s gallery, lol, I decided to have it live here.
I love this one as I think it has all of the visual drama that I normally think of when I think of rottweilers. Sasha was so beautiful (with a remarkably large head!), and I think the black of the trees and the hint of sunset provide a nice contrast to her black fur and auburn eyes.
Enjoy!
