Cowbelly + CityDog Magazine Summer 2008 issue = Love

I’m positively bubbling over with excitement. That’s Seymour- left and Charlie- right (aka Trouble and Chaos) on the cover of the summer issue of CityDog Magazine, photographed by yours-truly, yay! The summer issue will be hitting newsstands near you toute-suite but you guys get the sneak peek here and on the CityDog blog. Also, look for my photography in the ‘Dog’s Eye View’ Neighborhood feature. I’ll post photos from that but first there’s a little contest I’ve gotta take care of (see below).

BTW: The images on the homepage of my newly updated website are a couple of ‘outtakes’ from one of our cover shoots. I’ll interview Charlie and Seymour in an upcoming post to get THEIR take on the whole experience. And what an experience it was!

Thanks Brandie for asking me to photograph the cover (and for being excited when I said yes!), thanks Victoria for saying yes and being as happy as I hoped you would be to participate and for being so patient with the process, and thank you Mother Nature for finally cooperating with us! And of course thank you boys, I love you both dearly!! (even if you do eat my greeting cards and stand on the coffee table and bark in princess fergermeister’s face, heh heh).

For those of you who haven’t seen this magazine, you simply must subscribe; it’s rad.

More backstory on the cover shoot(s) soon!

Yay, magazine covers yay!

Oh also, I’ll be announcing the winner of the ‘slice of life‘ photo contest very shortly! I already know who wins, but don’t tell anyone, shhhh….

I love my job!

I just wanted to pop in and say hi and tell everyone that I am still alive. Since the commercial assignment ended early last week I have been doing a bunch of freelance photography for CityDog Magazine.

Yesterday I had one of the best days ever doing photography. I got the snaps for the ‘Dog’s Eye View’ article for the summer issue, and got to go around an awesome neighborhood in Seattle taking pictures of dogs, dogs with their owners, dog things and non-dog things alike.
I met some really awesome dogs and their people, who were all so nice and HAPPY. Why happy? Because it was a BEAUTIFUL day outside- darn near what I would consider to be perfect. Sunny, warm, but not too warm, a nice breeze blowing. Ahhh it was heaven. As I walked around with my camera around my neck looking for dogs to shoot, I thought to myself “it doesn’t get any better than this!”. I love my job. And 2008 just keeps getting better and better. :-)
I so badly want to share images with y’all that I have taken over the past month! But aside from my regular private client shoots (and events) they will have to wait. The commercial project isn’t being released until late August I learned, and the editorial photography probably won’t come out until later this month (or early next). I can’t wait until they do so I can post photos!
In the meantime, here are a few more images of darling Luna to whet your whistle. LOVE her!!

Love the dynamics of this shot below. Do you see the little boy in the background?

Have a terrific weekend!! And if you are in Seattle- get out there and enjoy the SUN!!
