Maddie

I have wanted to do a shoot at the UW campus for *years*, and finally had the opportunity to when a client said “I’m totally open to locations- you pick!”. I’ve had plenty of clients say this to me before, but always forgot about campus. I couldn’t have had a better day (a break in the rain) or a better subject. I love Maddie!

Here Maddie’s mom was playing hide-and-go-seek behind the pillars. Maddie is trying to figure out where she is. So. Cute.

I nearly deleted the shot on the right because it was so dark, but was really glad I didn’t after I had lightened it up. Lol,

FYI: Maddie is an older pitbull mix gal. Super sweet and fairly shy temperament. Total momma’s girl.

Poor girl is losing her vision, but loved playing fetch. This resulted in some tentativeness when the ball was falling out of the sky, but boy was she happy once she got it in her mouth.

This shoot totally took me back to my days as a student there. You can bet this won’t be the last shoot I do on campus. Next time when there aren’t so many students I’ll get more shots in front of the gorgeous buildings. It’s such a beautiful place to photograph.

Thanks so much Sarah and Maddie for a wonderful shoot! :-)

Olive & Daisy

Olive and Daisy were so fun to work with. Olive wasn’t so sure about the camera, but Daisy was hamming it up for everyone. We even got some great shots of the whole family.

This next shot cracks me up. Look at the look on Daisy’s face. LOL.

Thank you Tiffany for bringing your girls for us to photograph in Atlanta. I had a great time and I hope they did too!

the crowned royalty of Greenwood

call me crazy but I couldn’t resist crowning these superadorable Boston terriers with their very own matching his and hers crowns before putting them on the homepage of my website. Expect to see more design elements like this in my blog photos from now on, and keep the blog bookmarked for more of this delightful pair.

Branimir the handsome dalmation

Branimir’s shoot was done recently on the waterfront on a beautiful cloudless sky. Brani is owned by the nicest couple you will ever meet- Bill and Nicki Walters, owners of the fabulous and popular Pooper Trooper service. Bill and Nicki have a fantastic business with just about the best customer service in the greater Seattle area, and are passionate about the environment, which makes me love them even more. And it is no surprise that their pooch is a loverboy as well. If you are in need of yard cleaning services, please please give them a shout. You might even get to meet their sweet boy Brani.

I love the colors in the ones against the concrete, with just the blue sky in the background for color, and mostly shades of black white and grey in the rest of the frame.

Running dogs shots are some of my very favorites! I’m a big fan of dynamic pet images with movement. :-)

Check out the black heart spot he has below his ear. Awww. Totally fits this sweet boy.

As if the upcoming Chicago workshop wasn’t exciting enough, there are some super exciting things in the works behind the scenes. Probably won’t be able to post on them until mid September, but one of them will be coming up this week! (Maybe even later today). Stay tuned. :-)

an update on Rocksy

I swear I have the best clients in the whole wide world. I don’t just *work* for my clients, I *befriend* them. And if it’s true that you get back what you put out there in the universe I must be doing something right, because my clients are just the sweetest, most thoughtful people ever. Case in point is this recent email from Rocksy’s mom:

“Hi Guys, Remember me and Rocksy, she’s just had her 13th birthday and doing great. I was just puttering around on your website and thought I’d give you a “hello”. Rocksy now has a new housemate, Cleo, a weimeraner/choc lab and as I’m sure you can imagine a bundle of energy, Rocksy just watches her and sighs, probably thinking “that darn kid” but Rocksy lost quite a bit of weight, I took her to the vet and it turns out that it’s just because we’ve been walking so much further because of the pup! It’s a good thing because it’s really helped her arthritis and she’s feeling fabulous, grey as ever, more so probably, spoiled rotten but still such a polite and wonderful dog, loves sleeping on her bed in the sunshine, dreaming of her younger days chasing rabbits. love Zoe”

rocksyprint1 Yay for Rocksy!! :-)

Thank you Rocksy’s mom for sending us this email. It totally made my day.

I am going to do my best to get the ‘on competition’ post up tomorrow. I’ve had a crazy stressful last 7 days or so, so we’ll see if my brain still works by tomorrow.

Hope y’all are having a great week wherever you are.
