Gunner Greenlake sneak-peek
October 18, 2008 – 2:10 pm
I am loving the fall dog sessions! Fall is my favorite time of year, both in general and for photographing dogs outdoors in parks. Especially goldens, I think because their golden fur creates such a nice look with the golden sunshine and foliage.
It’s pretty cool that we can get shots like these in the middle of the city.
The subtitle to this post should be “Gunner and his stick”.
You see, I gave Gunner this stick at the beginning of our shoot, and he decided it was his favorite thing ever in the history of favorite things. Through the entire shoot he cracked his mom and I up with his stick antics. We tried hiding it, we tried taking it away, we tried distracting him, and he wasn’t having any of it it. Gunner is awesome.
Nicole this next one is for you because I know how much you love black and whites.
Hope everyone is having an awesome fall. It’s gorgeous in Seattle!
Yukon
September 5, 2008 – 2:15 pm
Yukon. 100% squeal-inducing Bernese Mountain Dog puppy.
Enjoy.
Yukon’s paws are so big he doesn’t have wrists.
The person he is looking up at adoringly in these shots is his daddy. Awww…..
The puppy learns to shake.
A new favorite:
UPDATE: YIKES! Sorry about the oversharpening on these photos! I must have passed them through the sharpener both in Lightroom and then again in PSCS3 when prepping the blog images. I didn’t notice my mistake until now. I don’t have time to go in and fix them so you’ll just have to enjoy Yukon ‘overly-sharp’!
I have tons more new images to share with you guys! Bert and Millie the fox terriers on the beach at Three Tree Point, more of Teddy and Breyer at OSP, more of Sammy the pug, Kaiya the tripod dog with a very special story at Discovery Park, Henri the boston terrier pup in Edmonds, Kenai the lab at Magnuson Park, and then shots from my two shoots tomorrow! I am swimming in RAW files and filling up cards faster than I can get the images off of them.
BTW: just purchased 1.5 TB of storage to hold all of the RAW files in- two 750GB LaCie external hard drives. I was at the point of crisis last week with full hard drives on the macbook pro and the imac, and couldn’t even download new files onto the machines! I have 5 shoots booked this week, and no place to put the files, so had to express-ship these units from B & H. At $189 a piece these babies are a steal IMO. Go get yourself one here. Super easy to set up and so far they run like a dream.
Hope y’all have a great weekend!
Loodie & Max sneak peek
August 31, 2008 – 4:00 pm
Some of the best light I have photographed in. Ever.
Loodie- left- girl- extrovert. Max- right- boy- introvert.
Loodie has the coolest spotted purple tongue!!
Max is painfully shy, but just the sweetest boy. He and Loodie couldn’t be more opposite, but they are the very best of friends.
I LOVE this next pair. Looking at these transports me back to the sights and smells and feeling of that time, and is the closest example I could find of how beautiful the light was that evening.
Loodie gives GREAT smile.
Random cute doggie we met during our shoot. She was soooo sweet.
Hunting for rats on the Seattle waterfront. Hey- it may be pretty but it’s still a city!
The whole family. I loved how Loodie’s leash matched her mom’s shirt, so as they were walking toward me I had to fire off a shot. These guys parents are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and I felt lucky to work with them. The location, the light, the dogs, the people- everything amounted to a darn near perfect session. This goes near the top of the list of favorite sessions ever.
And one last time, Loodie’s megawatt smile, in my new favorite pano crop.
Thank you Peter and Hope for being such wonderful people, and having such wonderful dogs! Oh, and for being so patient with me- you guys are the best.
More images soon I promise!
Sammy the (very special) pug
August 25, 2008 – 1:57 pm
A quick peek at a very special little guy, whose story I will share with you soon.
Everyone, this is Sammy. He is a pug as you can see. A very happy boy. He has a lot he can teach us, as you will soon learn in an upcoming post.
What do you think of my new panoramic crops? I am totally digging them. I think this will be my new thing.
I am taking the day off today to go spend it with my mom over in the town of Kirkland, WA where she lives. They have lots of malls over there in the burbs (with free parking even!) so we are going to do some shopping. Those who know me know I’m not a big shopper- something about malls (and the suburbs) just makes me tired and want to go home. I prefer the open air market type shopping experience a la paris or milan. But they do have some cool, fancy malls near where my mom lives and I still need to get a few things for my office so we’ll most likely hit some home stores. Speaking of my office, my 9,273 flagged emails will just have to wait till tomorrow for a reply.
Hope y’all are having a great Monday August 25th!
