Images from private (non-commercial) clients who have commissioned Cowbelly to provide photography for them of their pets, in and around the Seattle area (and some nationwide).

Louis the zany jazzy crazy Scottie

I had the immense pleasure of photographing Louis (pronounced “lew-ee”) last month for a Christmas gift for his dad. It was bitter cold out, but we had an absolute blast. I hope it shows in the photos. I love Louis!

Bookends.

The gift for Louis’ dad- a custom Decopaw Design triptych. Printed on an 18×46 canvas. I consider this one of the ‘avant garde’ designs, and I love it when clients request these! I custom designed a little silhouette of Louis to go down in the bottom right corner, and picked the perfect font to fit his personality for his name, something I do for all triptych clients. Just adds an extra special detail that really personalizes it to that particular pet.

Tania thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with your boy and create some fun art for Christmas!

Samantha

Fergie and I would love, love, love to get a kitty cat, but sadly I’m allergic, so for now I’ll have to enjoy them during photo shoots, and Fergie will enjoy them through fences on our walks. Cat owners will recognize many of the expressions/poses in this post. Samantha is 100% kitty! :-)

If this shot doesn’t make you laugh, you are dead inside. Dead I tell ya.

Samantha was really shy when I pulled out the camera, but she warmed right up and relaxed, as is evidenced in this sequence below. lol

Sometimes, all you need to do to make a photo really funny, is turn it sideways.

I’m still buried in work and expect to be until Christmas, but I’m hoping to get a handful more posts up between now and then. Hope everyone is having an excellent December!

Riley

Riley is a super sweet 15 year old. Sadly Riley has started having some pretty serious health issues and her mobility is very limited. She is most likely nearing the end of her time with us here on earth, and her mom had me photograph Riley so I can create a piece of Decopaw art of her dear girl. I had such a wonderful time with Riley and her mom and feel so lucky that I get to create this beautiful gift for them. I’ll post the completed art proofs here when they are done.

That yellow fabric is Riley’s bed. We dragged it out into the yard so Riley wouldn’t have to stand for the shoot, and she’d have a comfortable place to lay down (awww).

This is the photo we chose to turn into an art piece. I love how dynamic it is, and love that Riley’s ear is swinging in it. I also love her adorable back legs and tail, both of which are a big part of who she is.

Riley was (surprisingly) afraid of the camera, but you wouldn’t know it from these photos. It just goes to show that even timid/shy dogs can warm up to a Cowbelly photo session.

Martha thank you so much for having me come and photograph Riley. I’m really looking forward to seeing your completed art on canvas.

Matthew

Anyone want to guess at what breed Matthew is? I’ll give you a hint- he’s not a papillon, he’s not a pomeranian, and certainly not a corgi mix (the shelter’s guess). I’ll leave the answer in the comments after you’ve had a chance to guess.

IMHO this would make the perfect Christmas card.

Matthew has the cutest car seat. I totally have dog car seat envy, having a pooch that is just a little bit too big to fit in pretty much any canine car seat made.

Matthew has lots of ‘friends’ in the way of little stuffed toys. Here’s something astonishing: he knows the name of every single one by heart, and learned them after hearing the name only one time. He brings them out to his mom when they are having breakfast, and piles them around himself. His mom will come home from work and he’ll have them arranged on the bed like he did on the left there. How cute is that?!

Julia thank you so much for inviting me to come and photograph Matthew. I’m excited about our products for your stairs and can’t wait to see his cute mug on canvas!
