Images from private (non-commercial) clients who have commissioned Cowbelly to provide photography for them, in and around the Seattle area. Most on location outdoors in natural light; some in client’s homes, and a few in the studio; all loads of fun.

Christmas dogs

I keep reminding myself to post images from recent shoots, but then every other dog I think of I realize is a Christmas gift so can’t be posted. At least, not in their full doggy glory. Here I give you snippets of some of the wonderful, special canines I have photographed recently, whose precious mugs will grace the walls of their soon-to-be-surprised owner’s homes. Yay.

I’ll do full posts for each of these guys after the holidays.

Boo sneak peek

Boo. I year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Very playful, super sweet, 100% adorable.

These two shots were begging to be converted to black and white.

I love Boo’s swishy ears and tail.

We did the first half of Boo’s shoot on Highland Drive, then the second half at her home on the North End of Queen Anne. I feel so lucky that Boo lives in my hood! It just increases the likelihood that I’ll see the cute girl again.

She was soooo tired when we got home. She had been at her breeder’s all week playing with her brothers and sisters and had a bath that morning and was beat. She took a quick 30 second cat nap then was up and at em again.

A fave on the right below.

Boo loves to sit in the doorway and watch the world go by. Love her.

Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! My family and I decided to make it easy this year- delicious take out from Pasta & Co, a pre-cooked ham and a yummy marionberry pie from Metropolitan Market made for a hassle-free, relaxing dinner, with NO cooking involved! We even had a leftover bottle of french cider that had been in my fridge for months (unopened of course). This was the first time nobody cooked, and I think we started a trend, as we were all raving about how awesome it was to just relax. We even had energy to play Yahtzee. (My mom won by 2 points! Go mom!)

Back to work with me now, as you can imagine I have my hands full! Happy Saturday. :-)

Apollo- shot of the year

f/2.8, 200 ISO, 24mm, 1/1000, natural light. Seattle Arboretum.

Funny Seattle hounddog

I have more images of Apollo, and I promise you more hilarity will ensue. :-)

Hope nobody choked on their coffee.

Napa Valley dogs: Ruby and Buster Brown

First off, wow, sorry this post is 5 days overdue! I am deep in the swing of photo shoots, art commissions, print orders and studio consults with clients. The holiday work has officially began, and like every year at this time, I am very very busy! Christina has her work cut out for her today with emails. :-)

My final California pooches I want to share with y’all are the sleek and gorgeous supermodel Ruby and her adorable ‘little’ brother Buster Brown. I photographed them at boutique winery David Fulton in St. Helena and we had a fantastic time.

Ruby greyhound- retired racer.

Ruby and her little brother Buster the basset in front of the David Fulton Winery. Their parents drove them all the way up to Napa Valley from Orange County for our shoot. I felt so deeply honored!

It’s hard to believe but Buster was in a shelter near his southern California home for 4 MONTHS before he was adopted by his parents. He is a lucky boy now as they love him dearly. He is a daddy’s boy and 100% lovebug.

For those who don’t know, retired racing greyhounds make the very best pets. Believe it or not, most greyhounds are total couch potatoes, preferring to laze their days away in various reclined positions. They are the sweetest companions out there, and Ruby is no exception to this.

We held a couple of races in the vineyards. Who do you think won? hee hee

I love these shots of Buster (and the one above). He makes me so happy.

Winery kitty (name unknown). Winery dog- Tucker. Tucker is awesome.

Hope you enjoyed Ruby and Buster’s images as much as I enjoyed taking them!

I have lots more new dogs to share with you guys. Hopefully sometime this week I can get those new images online. Happy Thursday! :-)

Sonoma Valley sneak-peek: Max the Bernese

Meet Max. Max was photographed at the peak of midday sunshine- in very hot weather, but he was a trooper and even though we were photographing in mixed shade and sun (a black and white dog no less!) he gave me some really funny looks that resulted in some funny shots. I laughed out loud when I went through his images for the first time and they still make me giggle.

We did Max’s shoot on this cool road path thing through the vineyards and countryside in Santa Rosa. Thanks Daniella for helping with the location!

Tell me Max doesn’t look like a big bear in this next shot. It’s blurry but I still love it.

Close (L). Closer (R).

Puppy teeth!! I LOVE his teeth and little lip in this shot.

I have one more California client to share- Ruby the sleek supermodel greyhound and her brother Buster Brown the basset hound. I will post them tomorrow (sorry, running behind already!). Also, all of the Sonoma/Napa galleries will be going online tomorrow for my CA clients, whoopee!
