Scout the sweet Ridgeback in her golden years

I positively fell in love with Scout when I met her, because I can see so much of Fergie in her when Fergie gets older. It’s like seeing into the future, and I will be a lucky lucky girl if Fergie is half as great as Scout when she gets to be 11. Scout has many health and mobility issues and her parents are just trying to make her life as comfortable as possible. She is in great spirits, and is very food motivated, which is always great to see in a dog who is terminally ill. I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph her.

Isn’t she pretty?

Tell me this isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. I dare you.

Scout I love you! Robin thank you so much for hiring me to create photographic art of your sweet girl. It was an experience I will cherish for a lifetime, and I hope we get the opportunity to work together again someday. πŸ™‚

  1. She is definitely Robins soul dog. You can just see it in her eyes, they are so expressive. So sad to hear she is terminally ill. Gorgeous shots Jamie.

  2. I LOVE Scout. Those eyes, they are so beautiful and soulful. And adorable. πŸ™‚

And Jamie, you kill me with those wide angle shots… I’ll be all fine and dandy thinking “see Alexa, you don’t need a wide angle… Invest in marketing instead!” and then BAM I come look at your blog and I want a wide angle lens again.

  3. She’s absolutely stunning. I always feel so sad when I hear about sick dogs but your doing such an amazing thing keeping these moments for her family.

  4. totally adorable and sweet too! love the photo with her ridge …very creative in how you took that one. love the one of her loving owner behind her as she is sitting with her warmie and booties on! there is just something about older dogs and their faces that pull at my heartstrings more. thanks for sharing!
