Happy 2011!

I’m back! I took a 2.5 week vacation, and am now getting back into the swing of work. It would be easy to get used to not working, but someone has to pay the bills around here, and as of yet, Fergie still doesn’t have a job. I thought about enrolling her in a traveling circus, but I would just miss her way too much.

I had a fantastic holiday season, and last week was one of the very best weeks of my life. So far 2011 is looking fabulous; way, way better than 2010 in every way.

My sincerest hope and wish is for everyone to experience prosperity and love and joy this year, and that those who have struggled with unemployment and foreclosure, personal problems or health problems (or any kind of problems!) find their situations turning around this year. I have a good gut level feeling about this new decade we are in, and have decided to send all of my positive energy out into the universe. I hope it helps everyone else out too.

I’m working on a bunch of new blog posts, including a sweet old ridgeback girl, a pair of playful golden retrievers, a zany scottie, some Decopaw art, and of course, a bunch of new photos of Miss Ferguson.

I’ve also realized that while I’m focusing on my personal life I tend to fall off the face of the planet here. This is because I have always kept my personal life fiercely private, and I definitely separate work from pleasure. Those who have tried to friend me on facebook know this (I keep it just for close friends and family), and I need to do a better job at letting my followers into my life and seeing what’s going on with me- Cowbelly stuff or no. So this year you may get more personal photos and updates on what I’m doing so you can get to know not just Jamie the photographer, but Jamie the person as well. 🙂

Hope everyone is having a terrific 2011 and you’ll see more here soon!

  1. Welcome back!
I am the same way. Struggling to find the balance of keeping my personal life private, but also being open. It’s a hard balance and since I have only been a business owner for 6 months, I am still learning.

Maybe just choose what you want to share. You don’t have to share everything. Maybe keep the personal stuff “surface”. That’s what I do. I tell people I am taking a vacation or I will post a pic of my family with Santa. I want to seem open and but we also need to keep that line between friends and clients. At least for me, when the 2 have mixed or overlapped, it has not worked well.

The stuff I post of my personal facebook would never be said on my business site. haha!
