I had the occasion recently to try out the Canon 50mm f/1.2 L series lens on Fergie during a little shoot in our yard. The lens produces significant soft bokeh, does great color renditions and, although a little tricky to use wide open at f/1.2 because of the super shallow DOF, this lens makes it REALLY easy to produce nice looking shots. These are all SOOC- no editing in Lightroom or Photoshop applied.
All: 50mm f/1.2 manual 100 ISO 1/5000 sec

I love this series… As always Fergie is an adorable model.
Great photos and need I say I’m jealous! I just got myself up to the Canon 7D and first lense beyond what came with it is I’m looking for a used 50mm 1.4, but 1.2 is amazing. Hope you get to keep it
You are brave! Manual with a moving dog!
Great results as usuall!
Love your style and work.
thanks for posting.
Much Love from Miami Beach.

I’ve been seriously thinking of buying this lens and I’m just waiting for the cash to be available. Every time I see pics using this lens, it prompts me more towards the direction of just buying it. Great shots.
Oooohh! Lucky you!
It does produce a gorgeous soft bokeh… I have the 1.4 which is also great, but not nearly as creamy! Gorgeous. Love the 1st shot.
I love this lens. Only own the 85 1.2 though….but since I am currently a little heavy on the long end of lenses, I have been thinking of changing out for the 50. Still I find a 50 a bit tricky for a lot of dog shots ( and the 85 is out of the question, lol) Great work as always, Jamie
Wow, these are amazing. My 1.8 aint so bad though…
