Brinkley the supermodel Golden Retriever sneak peek

Beautiful golden retriever girl + blue sky + pink cherry blossoms + green grass + sunshine = heavenly first shoot of spring. Enjoy. :-)

Can you see the treats flying through the air below? We had some good belly laughs watching poor Brinkley miss catching each and every one.

Thank you Nate, Bryan and Brinkley for a fantastic shoot! It’s days like that that I live for :-)

Fergie 50mm f/1.8

This image is proof that if you are a Canon owner you don’t need to spend $1,400+ on a 50mm 1.2 lens, or $1,400+ on a 35mm 1.4 lens or $1,600+ on a 24mm 1.4 lens, to get really beautiful bokeh. This shot was taken with the $100 50mm 1.8 lens. That’s right, one hundred dollars. Go buy it here.

I stumbled on this image a few days ago while cleaning off my hard drive on my macbook pro, freeing up about 30GB of space (yay for me!).  I didn’t even know I had this shot, and in fact don’t ever remember seeing it before, or doing the black and white conversion on it. I have a lot of these types of files, shots I’ve taken that get filed away in some random spot, never to be seen again. I was thrilled to discover this, because I absolutely love it. Now if only I could remember what the B/W conversion was I did on it. ;-)

Fergie 50mm f/1.2

I had the occasion recently to try out the Canon 50mm f/1.2 L series lens on Fergie during a little shoot in our yard. The lens produces significant soft bokeh, does great color renditions and, although a little tricky to use wide open at f/1.2 because of the super shallow DOF, this lens makes it REALLY easy to produce nice looking shots. These are all SOOC- no editing in Lightroom or Photoshop applied.

All: 50mm f/1.2 manual 100 ISO 1/5000 sec
