Champ

Champ is a superadorable little tiny boxer mix. Just the right size to fit in your pocket, stick in your Cooper Mini or smuggle through airports. Ok, he might not be *that* small, but he sure is superadorable.

I like laying in front of the fire too Champ! Especially on nights like tonight, where it is below freezing in Seattle. Brrr..

I big time love this next shot. To me it speaks 100% boxer.

champ-07

Champ has his very own yellow rain slicker. Hee hee.

champ-25

Wanna see what it looks like on? Champ proves that you *can* have fun in the rain while wearing a plastic hoodie.

champ-17

I have no words for this next one.

champ-22v2

I nearly peed myself when I spied this graffiti covered wall in the alley behind their backyard. “Can we, can we? Pleeeze?” I asked his parents. “Sure!” came their reply. Game On!

If you have a super well-behaved dog that will sit and stay on command for big chunks of time in unfamiliar environments, and would like to have your pooch involved in my graffiti dogs project, please shoot me an email to info@cowbelly.com with a photo attached and we’ll see what we can set up!

Dog. Snuggle. Heaven. :-)

Nicole thank you so much for having me out to photograph Champ! I look forward to getting your prints to you. :-)

and the winner is… !

Robyn Arouty, of Project 71, you are the winner of the free 1-week lens rental through borrowlenses.com!

By a totally random selection based on the number of comments (124. note, the 125th comment does not count as it’s a track- back), the lovely website Random.org generated a number of 57 for us, and after many counts and re-counts to make sure we knew what comment #57 was, it is determined that Robyn is the winner!

randomorg-57-number

For those who aren’t familiar with Robyn’s name, I’d like to take this opportunity to give her a shout out here on the Cowbelly blog.

Robyn has a business called Project 71.

“project71″ defined… (from the website)

an animal enters a shelter & during the first 72 hours they will either:

1) be united with their owner.
2) enter an adoption program.
3) be euthanized.

in theory, we see the 71st hour as their most crucial… that’s why we have devoted our lives to volunteering, fostering, rescuing & comforting as many shelter animals as we can. if you would like to donate a dog bed to an animal at a shelter, please specify the address you would like it shipped to.

Robyn collects dog beds for homeless pups in shelters, which, IMO, is one of the most caring things you can do for an animal in a shelter, other than feeding, walking it and giving it a new home. The beds make the dogs feel more at home than sleeping in a cold concrete floor, and for those who have come from a home before, make the shelter transition just a little bit easier. It provides just a little bit of warmth during a cold and scary time.

Please go check out Robyn’s organization, and if you have your own blog, write a post of your own on Project 71.

Robyn I will be emailing you about next steps and congratulations!

Laila Decopaw art

When Laila’s mom said she wanted ‘pink polka dots’ I flipped. This is a woman after my own heart. If Fergie were more girlie, I’d design a pink polka dotted art piece for her too.

My favorite proofs below, including a snazzy pink zebra striped proof I had to do just for me. :-)

YUMMMMM PINK!!!!

Winston Decopaw art

This is my 2nd piece for Dear sweet Winston, whose days are sadly numbered as he is at the age where it is time to go to the big dog park in the sky. This will be a gift for his daddy from his mom, and I hope will touch his heart this holiday season. I had a hard time creating a design that would work well with the one I made in 2005, and considering that one is one of my favorite art pieces I have done, it made it even harder. I’m thrilled that his mom is happy with the results, and can’t wait to see how the gift goes over.

Below- new piece on the left, 2005 piece on the right.
