It’s that time again folks. Time for another fun contest! Yes, you know you want to rent that fancy new tilt-shift, or that macro with IS. C’mon now, surely there is one fantasy lens you must get your hands on. Now’s your chance!

logoOur awesome friends over at Borrowlenses.com have been kind enough to make available a free week long lens rental (excluding super telephoto lenses) to be given away here on the Cowbelly blog.

If you enter you can stand to win a free one week rental of any lens. So my photo snap happy friends, read the post below to figure out how to sign yourself up. You have nothing to lose and may just win a rental of that sweet tilt-shift lens you have been coveting.

The contest ends DECEMBER 1st, 2009 at Midnight. But get your comments in now! I want to see what you guys want to rent. ๐Ÿ™‚

In order to be eligible you need to:

  • Contest open to only those in the US. Lens rentals cannot be shipped to other countries.
  • Be located in the United States.
  • The lucky winner will place the order online at BorrowLenses.com and they request a credit card number to cover the risk of a no-return. They will not charge your credit card. BorrowLenses.com is a reputable business but if you don’t feel comfortable with this condition, please don’t enter.
  • Be able to place an order online with a credit card. No charges will be made, this is merely a technicality. (Don’t fret over this- I read the terms and it’s no biggie at all. It’s just their way of protecting themselves should the contest winner run off with their fancy new Canon telephoto.)
  • The offer excludes super telephoto lenses and pro camera bodies.

HOW TO ENTER

  1. Check outย Borrowlenses.com to find something you’d be interested to rent. Let me know what lens you hope to rent. I won’t hold you to this if you win. I’m just curious. I know the lens I’d like to rent. Anyone want to guess as to what it is?
Note: Available lenses are for Nikon and Canon cameras. Not a Nikon or Canon user? Consider their lighting and tripod equipment.
  2. Add a comment to this post with the item you’d be most interested to rent. Please leave your email address if your name does not link back to a website.
Note: Your blog comment is worth one entry to the contest.

  1. I have been wanting the Canon 24-70mm f2.8L lens so I can have a faster lens for wide angle AND portraits. Want to make my pet photography business a reality in 2011!! Appreciate the opportunity to rent this lens – thank you!

  2. I would LOVE to try out a Nikon 17-55f/2.8… I’ve had chances to see the 14-24 and the 24-70, but this I have not explored yet…

  3. I’ve really been wanting to give the Nikon 24mm f/3.5D ED PC-E a test run, and was actually set to rent one from borrowlenses.com for a wedding I was scheduled to shoot in August, but that damn cancer just wouldn’t stay in remission long enough and I had to cancel the wedding (I found them someone else), so that I could have more chemo and a stem cell transplant.

Thanks for the shot at the free rental!

  4. Oh what a great contest from a great company!!! I’ve used BorrowLenses a few times and have had nothing but the finest experience and customer service! That said, I’d probably go with either my tried and true 28-70 mm f/2.8 or the 70-200. Gotta give it a whirl! Thanks guys!

  5. such a cool giveaway–so glad you tweeted about it!! I would want to rent your canon 85mm f1.2 or a macro lens!! thanks for having the contest!!!

  6. Nikon 16-85. Just rented it for a shot and it’s awesome!! Best glass I have used to date. Love to get it again.

  7. if i’d be able to rent a lens i’d go wide and rent a 14mm 2.8 (sigma or canon)
i’ve been able to use a 16-35 but i want to put my feet in the water and go w i d e r r

    Thankss

  8. I’d love to try a tilt-shift shift lens; after doing some photography, I’d see what that baby can do with video … Thanks for a great contest! U rawk man!

  9. I would rent a tilt-shift lens for Nikon to use in an upcoming project I have been planning for a long time. I want to do a time-lapse series of various areas around downtown Seattle, as I have never seen this kind of project done in this particular style. I have never been able to afford a tilt-shift lens so being able to rent it would be a great asset!

    Daniel

  10. The pick of any lens? It feels like an early Christmas gift! I’d go for the Canon 14mm f/2.8L because I’ve always wanted to try an L lens.

  11. I would rent either the Simga 12-24mm or the Canon 17-40 f/4 as I’m getting into some photography jobs where 24mm is just too narrow.

  12. I’d love to rent the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G AF Fisheye lens. I’m coming up with some fun ideas, and I’d like to include this baby in them for the holiday season ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I would LOOOVE to rent the Canon 16-35 as I really need to know if it would be a better investment than the 24-70 I currently break out when I want a wide angle zoom lens, instead of a prime!

  14. Borrowlenses is helping me kickstart my business. They just received the new Nikkor 70-200 VR II which I could use Tout de Suite. Thanks for running this.

  15. I would love to use the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 to do a newborn shoot of my niece. She’s due to arrive February 25th. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Thank you Cowbelly!

  16. We LOVE borrowlenses. By “we” I mean me, my pug & dalmatian. Well, maybe not the dalmatian because he hates cameras. But we all agree that the peeps @borrowlenses are all suuuper nice. And dog friendly ๐Ÿ™‚ Haven’t tried the Nikon 14-24 because it won’t take a filter (FYI). Would probably rent that & just stay off the beach that week.

  17. Soo many lenses to choose from, it is like being in a candy shop. I would love to try the Canon 50mm f/1.2 or the 16-35mm f/2.8 which I have been meaning to get, but the budgetary requirements and need for a 5DMKII take priority.

  18. I’ve always had great experiences renting from Borrow Lenses. I just haven’t had the money to try out all the lenses that I would like. The rollout of Space Ship Two is next week across the street at Scaled Composites and I’d love to have a Canon 70-210mm F2.8 attached to the front of my camera for the event. I might get a chance for a shot of Sir Richard Branson and his parents with SS2 if I’m lucky.

  19. I’d be interested in renting the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8. I’ve been interested in doing some portraits in the city. I want to show as much of the building(s) in the background as I can, while being up close to the subject.

  20. I entered one of these not long ago and didn’t win the rental for the Tokina 11-16, so I’ll be renting that one on my own this weekend. This time around I will try for the 24-105 f/4L.

  21. Wow! That’s a hard choice! I’d love to play with a Canon 14mm f/2.8L II or a tilt-sift lens! Thank you for the contest!

  22. Holy Shutterspeed cowbellY! That Tokina 11-16 for the Nikon looks mighty tempting! I can imagine it now…Click! woosh! snap! Those doggies wont have a clue what hit them. Ch-Chik! Snap! Ch-chick! Snap! yeeeeaa…they’ll have no idea…

  23. I would love to try the 17mm Tilt-Shift for Canon. Unless I win the lottery, I won’t be buying it anytime soon, and it is so very pretty, so it would be amazing to play, just for a bit. Thanks so much for hosting this contest!

  24. I own an AlienBees ringflash & would love to see if their 30″ Moon Unit is worth the pickup. Perhaps a free rental may push me over the edge?

  25. I’d rent the Canon EF 50mm f/1.0L USM because it is a legend. I’ve coveted it since forever.

I would also like to rent a lens baby or tilt-shift setup, just to see what they can do, and if they’re worth buying… as in, would they just gather dust in my lens bag, or would I go nuts with them?

  26. There are so many great ones to try – I’d either go for the 12-24 or the 70-200 (to compare to my 80-400). Thanks!

  27. I’d like to try the Canon 50mm 1.2 or the 24-70 …having my dogs cross their paws for good luck…which puts the odds in my favor because that is 16 paws that are crossed right now in some shape, form or fashion…

  28. Wow! That’s a toughy! I probably would have to go with the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. That would be a great one to try because it’s so big – it would give me a chance to see how heavy it is! Or, maybe the 24-70mm f/2.8 – I hear that’s one of their sharpest lenses.. Oh, too many choices!

  29. Okay so I totally Heart fixed lenses. That being said, I hear super amazing things about the Nikon 24 – 70 2.8. Some say its a crucial staple to their lens collection. I would want to give that one a shot….No Pun intended ๐Ÿ˜€

  30. Awesome contest! No question – the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 is what I’d rent. It’s on my Christmas list, but I don’t think I’ve been that nice this year. ๐Ÿ˜

  31. Oh you are killing me! One comment? Only one?! I’d comment a million times over if it’d get me more entries ๐Ÿ˜‰ … definitely a fish eye … and probably something else, cause why let this great opportunity go to waste? Might as well rent a couple ๐Ÿ˜‰ … very cool Jamie! Hope you are well!

  32. Very cool contest…you have a way with these things! I would love to try out the Canon 24-70 2.8L!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Jaime!

  33. I have to go with the fisheye… either the Sigma 8mm or the Canon 15mm. I really can’t decide between the two so this would be a good way to get to try them both! I really love crazy closeups with lots of background! : )

  34. I would love to rent the 24-70mm L from Canon. I have been saving and hoped to get it by Christmas- but it looks like I won’t make it.

  35. I would LOVE to rent the 85L II…. I lust after this lens and it’s magical bokeh…. Thanks for this opportunity! (oh, and btw, I’d think you’d love to give the 24L II a try!) *Lisa ๐Ÿ˜€

  36. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ What a GREAT contest! Thanks for hosting it. I would LOVE to get my hands on the Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye Lens. It may not be the most practical but oh, the fun I could have! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Amber

  37. I would most likely pick the Canon 24-70 2.8L. I love to do portrait pictures and have heard how nice this lens is, but because of the cost am very unlikely to get to try it anytime soon. Thanks for making this opportunity available!

  38. I would really like to try or HAVE all of them LOL. But if i had to choose one right now it would be the Canon EF 50mm f/1.0L USM though i think playing with a fish eye for a week would be fun…

  39. So many choices Hmmm…Today I would love to try a Canon 50 1.2
Great contest, Thanks Cowbelly & Borrowlenses.com
    Good luck to all !!!!!

  40. What wouldn’t I want?? For now, gimme’ the Nikon 85mm f/2.8D PC-E Micro and call me Judy. OK, call my tonya. tonya[at]gauchogirl[dot]com

Just found your site yesterday via the TRA interview. Thrilled to find another photog with such fun, amazing images in my state. (I’m in Wenatchee!)

  41. I’d love to try something fun like a macro or tilt-shift, but I’d probably end up being practical and rent the 24-70 f2/8 because I love it but don’t have one of my own yet.

  42. I’d like to check out the 24-70 2.8 Canon. Apparently, it’s the “most versatile pet photography lens out there”! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve got that range but not with that speed or L glass so it’d be fun to give it a whirl.

    Thanks Jamie!

  43. Please give me a crack at the–oops, bad choice of words–give me a chance to try out the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G AF-S ED. Everyone raves so about it. I want to see if I need it!

  44. I would LOVE to try a 70-200 2.8! Follow lots of photographers blogs, and it seems alot of people really like this lens….I think I heard it calling me when I checked out the Borrowed Lenses site!

  45. Funny enough, I have just ordered the 70-200mm f/2.8 for a week. I always thought tele is the way to go with animals and I’m sure I will love this. But i read about your favorite lens and I also started to fall in love with my cheapo 50mm, so the lens I reeeaally want to give a try now is the 24mm/1.4. Totally new experience, lots to experiment! That would be so much fun!

  46. The Canon 50mm f/1.2 most definitely!!! I’m afraid that once I have it in my hands there will be nothing that could stop me from buying one, oh except the cost ๐Ÿ™‚ Seriously I would love to try this lens out and see what it can do, I love my 50 f/1.4 by far out of my current lineup of lenses.

  47. I would love to try out the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM!! Thanks for the contest. Borrowlenses.com is a great company that offers a great service! Thanks Cowbelly!
