Graffiti dogs project

A little personal project I have been working on, inspired early this year by this post on Rebecca Lansdowne (Art Paw)’s blog. Unlike my normally verbose posts, I will let the images here speak for themselves. (ok, and give you a little info in between).

BTW: my new favorite photo I have ever taken (yes, I said ever) is below. Can you guess which one it is?

That’s Fergie’s tail on the left. “Furr-gee-ee!”

I promise you this shot wasn’t staged (nor cropped). I was just capturing what I was seeing.

Fergie & Jada.

Words cannot express how much I love dogs and graffiti. The combination of both here has me seriously swooning.

For my pet photographer friends, we were using a reflector under Charlie and Seymour to get some light underneath them.

Jada does cross-eyed so well.

(ok, I can’t contain myself, I will give you a hint on my favorite shot ever taken- I always save the best for last). Can you say WALL-SIZED canvas? WHOOPEE!! I LOVE YOU FERGIE!! :-)

Haha, now we are sort of even for mutilating eachother’s last name:)

Last year I posted a couple of fun shots over at Flickr of my Big Tommy in front of graffiti, but I never got this much powerful color from my lens. My favorite here is the one with the fawn pug cropped at the left side of frame.

I was going to say the first one of Fergie (in front of the wall) until I got to the last one. Super cool color - it’s a color explosion!

Thanks everybody! I will be doing more of these so you will see more on this blog in the future. I have no idea what I’ll do with them, but that’s the fun of personal projects. It’s important to shoot just for oneself from time to time. :-)

They’re all so redonkulously good it was hard to tell which your favorite was! Of course it was one of the Fergiemeister!

I thought “ah-ha!” when I got to the last one, moments before reading that it was the one! Look, a heart above her..your heart dog! I would love to see some of my boy enlarged really big. Man, some of the expressions on the other dogs are hilarious. Those eyes on Jada crack me up! And a puff-cheek pug! ha ha! These are really, really cool Jamie :)

  14. I love the graffiti dog shots. For a number of people sessions I’ve done, I’ve sought out graffiti because I think it looks fabulous. I’ve never photographed a dog in front of it, but I think it’s high time I did. Love the results.
